College Students To Get $100 Laptop From India |

 Ah, the dream of the $100 notebook. While Negroponte and the OLPC project got kind of close with the XO Laptop, that thing was only supposed to be for kids. What about a notebook for the rest of us?
It seems that India is trying to create some inexpensive laptops, but they don't have their sights set on the preschoolers in the audience; they want the $100 laptop to be worthy of supporting and benefiting higher education. College and university students are in desperate need of affordable computing and it probably won't get much more affordable than $100.
Going further, the Indian government wants to provide free broadband to its citizens for education purposes. At least technical support will be close at hand.
